The Internet has a vast, rich and fascinating history. It was developed by Robert Elliot Kahn (Bob Kahn) and Vinton Gray Cerf in the late 1970s. It was the result of a research experiment which was called ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network). The internet that we are using at present, was actually started for the Defense Team of the United States of America as a communications system. It is believed that on August 6, 1991, the WWW (World Wide Web) was opened to the public by Timothy John Berners-Lee.
